Here's a link to the article that <a href = "http://www.gazette.net/stories/012308/takonew210258_32364.shtml">Mike Meno wrote in January, 2008.</a> I received a lot of support and encouragement from Karen MacPherson, children's librarian at <a href = "http://www.cityoftakomapark.org/library/">Takoma Park Maryland Library,</a> as this project was getting off the ground. The people who deserve most credit for this project are the visionaries who who put into place the Maryland <a href = "http://www.mssa.sailorsite.net/lea_montgomery.html">student service learning requirement</a> -- way back in the early 1990's.
